Thoughts from a 21st century educator.

Design of Technology-Supported Learning Environments (ETEC 510)

Reflection: ETEC 510 - Design of Technology-Supported Learning Environments (core course)

This was the last core course I took in the MET degree.  I did something rather foolish, I actually ended up leaving 3 of my 4 core courses for the end of my degree.  I can see that these courses really would have helped make the other courses I took earlier much easier.  The purpose of this course was to take educational theory and technology and justify the use of technology in education by grounding it in the educational theory.

Artifact: Video Production proposal (Group work)

Our objective for this assignment was to ground our proposal in the research behind video production in the classroom.  We wanted to ensure that our proposal made sense, and was within our ability to finish in the time allotted.  It was also important to demonstrate the links between video editing and production and learning theory, partially to justify our topic for our proposal and partially to justify our site for teacher use.  If our idea is sound, and usable in the classroom, then it has to be based in educational theory.

Artifact: Video Production Wiki (Group work)

Our objective with this site was to create a starting place for teachers interested in producing videos with their students.  We focussed mostly on free tools, recognizing that our audience is teachers who, if they are just getting started in this area, are probably not going to want to pay very much.
